NKF expands tax practice with two new partners in Geneva
Niederer Kraft Frey is pleased to announce a significant expansion of its tax practice with the joining of two new tax partners in Geneva, effective as of 1 October 2023: Marcel Meier and Jacques Pittet. With the addition of two tax partners in Geneva, NKF is establishing a strong tax practice in the French-speaking market, alongside its robust presence in Zurich. In total, the NKF Tax team comprises 16 members, including 6 partners.
Marcel Meier focuses mainly on corporate tax law. In particular, he advises on collective investment schemes, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, financing transactions, employee benefit and pension schemes, aircraft ownership structures and conducts tax disputes. Additionally, he is a trusted advisor for UHNWI and athletes. Chambers and other legal directories distinguish him as a leading tax lawyer in Switzerland.
Jacques Pittet specialises in Swiss and international indirect taxation for businesses and individuals. He specialises in VAT and customs, both from a tax and criminal tax perspective. In addition, he assists his clients with requests for written confirmations (VAT rulings) as well as with disputes at all stages of the contentious procedure. He is a member of the Expert Commission for Indirect Taxes of EXPERTsuisse and is co-responsible for the VAT module in the training of certified tax experts.
