Rayner Group acquires This AG

Niederer Kraft Frey advised Rayner Group on the acquisition of This AG from the private investment company Multimed AG and accompanied minority investors.

Rayner Group is a global leader in ophthalmic solutions headquartered in Worthing, United Kingdom. Rayner’s mission is to deliver innovative and clinically superior ophthalmic products that respond to the expectations of global customers, aiming to improve the sight and quality of life of their patients. Rayner markets its medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and digital solutions worldwide in over 80 countries.

Founded in 2014, This AG (“Think in Systems”) produces state-of-the-art ophthalmic cataract surgical systems under the brand Sophi (Swiss Ophthalmology Innovation). Sophi is an innovative and disruptive phaco technology providing mobility, simplicity, and safety within the operating theatre. An entirely new design, Sophi presents numerous solutions within the fields of fluidics and usability for improved chamber stability, phaco efficiency and ease of use.
